Wedding Planner Check List
12-24 MONTHS BEFORE YOUR WEDDING DATE

1. Announce your engagement
   
2. Set your date
   
3. Set a budget
   
4. Choose the style, formality, and colors or theme of your wedding
   
5. Pick your attendants
   
6. Select your locations for the ceremony and reception
   
7. Reserve your caterer if an on site service is not available
   
8. Choose your officiant and investigate the need for pre-marital counseling

9-12 MONTHS PRIOR

1. Choose your florist
   
2. Begin dress shopping if you are not using a designer
   
3. Continue to meet with your con­sultant to ensure the appropriate progress is being made
   
4. Choose your photographer and videographer

6-9 MONTHS PRIOR

1. Choose your attendants’ gowns
   
2. Assist mothers in selecting gowns
   
3. Begin your honeymoon planning
   
4. Reserve your date with the musicians or DJ you’ve chosen
   
5. Choose your wedding bands and have engraving done
   
6. Begin shopping for wedding favors
   
7. Choose your cake and cake topper
   
8. Reserve all wedding rentals (tents, chairs, linens, flatware, etc.)

4-6 MONTHS PRIOR

1. Finalize your honeymoon travel arrangements
   
2. Book accommodations for out of town guests
   
3. Register with your favorite shops and boutiques
   
4. Reserve or purchase tuxedos
   
5. Purchase all accessories, shoes and incidentals for the wedding day
   
6. Choose hair and make-up boutique, reserve the date
   
7. Shop for wedding favors, serving sets, and guest book
   
8. Purchase your invitations, thank you cards, etc.

2-4 MONTHS PRIOR

1. Mail invitations
   
2. Get your marriage license
   
3. Dress fittings with accessories, shoes & undergarments for all women in the wedding
   
4. Check-in with your vendors to make sure the details have been finalized
   
5. Buy your wedding party gifts
   
6. Make certain your groom and groomsmen have all been fitted for their tuxes
   
7. If writing personalized vows, now is the time to begin writing them
   
8. Select Skin Care and Color Consultant to coordinate colors of women who are going to be in pictures

FINAL MONTH

1. Make reservations for rehearsal dinner
   
2. Finalize details with officiant
   
3. Final fittings
   
4. Pick up your wedding bands
   
5. Create itinerary for the day
   
6. Make reception seating arrangements as RSVPs arrive
   
7. Shop for your honeymoon needs and finalize travel arrangements
   
8. Pick up your gown
   
9. Send wedding announcements to local newspapers
   
10. Write thank you notes as gifts arrive

FINAL WEEK

1. Pick up the tux
   
2. Attend rehearsal and rehearsal dinner
   
3. Set aside payments for all wedding vendors to leave with the best man or whomever you’ve chosen to handle the payments

AFTER THE WEDDING

1. Send thank you notes for every gift
   
2. Legally change your name if you plan too
   
3. Make a wedding scrap-book to commemorate your special day
